Abstract

EFEKTIVITAS PENURUNAN KADAR COD DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE BUBBLE AERATOR PADA LIMBAH BATIK SAMBUNG ROSO TAHUN 2025 Hasil pemeriksaan air limbah cair Batik Sambung Roso yang berlokasi di Desa Simbatan, Kecamatan Nguntoronadi, Kabupaten Magetan, diperoleh hasil sebesar 309 Mg/L. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang dijelaskan oleh peneliti, mereka menggunakan metode aerasi karena metode yang dapat digunakan untuk menurunkan kadar Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) adalah metode aerasi yang memiliki hasil penurunan yang tinggi. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Metode aerasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bubble aerator, dengan interval waktu yang bervariasi, yaitu 1, 1 ,5, dan 2 jam. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui penurunan kadar COD pada limbah batik Sambung Roso melalui proses pengolahan aerator gelembung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variasi perlakuan yang mampu menurunkan kadar Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) tertinggi terjadi pada aerasi dengan waktu kontak 2 jam yang mampu menurunkan hingga 244,6 mg/L dengan persentase sebesar 20,86%. Disarankan bagi pemilik industri yang belum memiliki instalasi pengolahan air limbah (IPAL) untuk dapat menerapkan metode aerasi menggunakan aerator gelembung sebelum limbah dibuang ke badan air guna mencegah pencemaran lingkungan dan membahayakan makhluk hidup di sekitarnya. Based on the problems described by the researchers, they chose the aeration method because it can be used to reduce Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) levels, which is a method that produces high reductions. This research is descriptive. The aeration method used in this study was a bubble aerator, with varying time intervals: 1, 1.5, and 2 hours. The goal was to determine the reduction in COD levels in Sambung Roso batik wastewater through the bubble aerator treatment process. The results showed that the treatment variation that achieved the highest COD reduction was aeration with a contact time of 2 hours, which reduced COD by 244.6 mg/L, a percentage of 20.86%. It is recommended that industrial owners without wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) implement aeration using bubble aerators before discharging waste into water bodies to prevent environmental pollution and harm to living organisms.
